There is a depth to the magic of Internal Family Systems and Ego States theory and I have seen great results with incorporating this way of working into my practice. This way of understanding our internal system can reach and heal on a different level than I have found in other ways of working. These frameworks are based on the premise that we have multiple parts or aspects of ourselves inside, sometimes competing with each other, sometimes protecting us, sometimes criticizing or cheerleading us, working to defend the vulnerable parts that are buried deep inside.
Cultivating curiosity, going slow, building understanding, and allying ourselves with these previously unspoken to parts can help metabolize and integrate healing on a deeply rooted and profound level.
